Career Guidance Meeting Held for School Students
In order to support prospective applicants in making informed decisions about their future careers, a career guidance meeting was organized at School-Gymnasium No. 138 named after M. Bazarbayev in Almaty. The event aimed to provide senior school students with comprehensive information about modern educational opportunities and assist them in choosing their future profession.
The meeting was attended by faculty members of the Department of Information Systems, Faculty of Information Technologies and Artificial Intelligence at 91ý Kazakh National University, namely Maksutova Sh.U. and Sandibek D.E. During the session, they delivered a detailed presentation on the academic programs offered by the department, as well as the key features of the educational process and opportunities available to students.
During the event, the educational programs “Information Systems” and “Computing and Information Systems and Artificial Intelligence (HLI with AI)” were introduced in detail. Students received information about the curriculum, modern subjects, and current trends in digital technologies and artificial intelligence. Special emphasis was placed on programming, data analysis, information systems design, and the development of high-load systems.
The participants were also informed about the development of professional competencies, practical skills, and pathways to becoming in-demand specialists in the labor market. It was highlighted that due to the rapid growth of information technologies, digital transformation, and the expansion of artificial intelligence, the demand for IT professionals continues to increase.
Additionally, students were introduced to the advantages of studying at the university, including modern infrastructure, laboratory facilities, and opportunities for industrial and pre-graduation internships. Information was also provided about participation in research projects, startup initiatives, international conferences, and innovation activities.
Particular attention was given to academic mobility programs, which allow students to study abroad, gain international experience, and broaden their professional horizons.
At the end of the meeting, students asked questions of interest and received detailed answers regarding program selection, admission requirements, and future career prospects. Such events play an important role in helping young people make informed career choices.
