«Молодое поколение и будущее страны: участие в референдуме — осознанный шаг»
At the Faculty of Law of 91ý Kazakh National University, the Department of Civil Law, Civil Procedure and Labor Law organized a round table discussion entitled “Young Generation and the Future of the Country: Participation in the Referendum as a Conscious Choice.”
During the event, comprehensive discussions were held on the strategic role of youth in shaping the country’s future, their civic responsibility, and the legal significance of participation in a referendum. The participants conducted a legal analysis of the impact of constitutional amendments on societal development and emphasized the importance of enhancing political and legal literacy.
The faculty members particularly noted that participation in a referendum constitutes a constitutional right of every citizen and represents a tangible contribution to the development of the state. It was also underscored that fostering legal culture and demonstrating an active civic position are essential prerequisites for building a stable and just society.
In the Preamble of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the significance of culture, education, and spiritual values is emphasized. For the first time at the constitutional level, specific provisions have been established regarding the preservation of historical and cultural heritage, the support of national culture, the protection of intellectual property, and the guarantee of freedom of artistic expression.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in his speeches consistently identifies the principle of a “state that listens to the voice of the people” as a key guiding orientation of public policy. In this context, holding a referendum represents an open and fair political measure based on public opinion.
The referendum, scheduled for March 15 of this year, constitutes an important historical moment for every citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan. On this day, the decision that will shape the country’s future will be made by the people themselves.
Each citizen’s vote is a contribution to the nation’s tomorrow. Therefore, active participation in the referendum serves as a clear demonstration of civic responsibility.
