“Eco-Lawyer” Meeting: The Importance of Environmental Legislation Explained to Future Specialists
On March 11, 2026, an educational meeting titled “Eco-Lawyer” was held at the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management of 91ý Kazakh National University within the framework of the “Law and Order” event plan. The topic of the meeting was “Explaining the New Environmental Code of Kazakhstan: What Do Students Need to Know?”
The event was conducted by Bayan Khalelovna Tussupova, Senior Lecturer of the UNESCO Chair on Sustainable Development. Students majoring in Ecology participated in the meeting and received important information about the updated requirements and features of environmental legislation in Kazakhstan.
During the event, the speaker discussed in detail the main principles of the new Environmental Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the directions of state policy in the field of environmental protection, as well as issues of environmental responsibility and sustainable use of natural resources. Students were also informed about the importance of understanding environmental legislation and applying it in their future professional activities.
During the meeting, students asked questions and exchanged opinions on issues related to environmental law, environmental protection, and sustainable development.
Such events contribute to improving students’ legal and environmental awareness and help foster a responsible attitude toward environmental protection.
