19 February — Regional Museum Forum at the "Anağa Qurmet" Museum
Free courses with SDG components developed and delivered for the general public outside the campus.
On 19 February, in celebration of World Tour Guide Day, the regional museum forum entitled "The Tour Guide — A Figure Connecting Past and Present" was held at the "Anağa Qurmet" Museum, on the initiative of the Association of Museums of Almaty Region.
In the framework of Sustainable Development Goal 4 "Quality Education" — ensuring inclusive, equitable and quality education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities for all — an open public lecture was delivered by Samat Sapatayev, PhD, Associate Professor and Researcher at the Department of History of Kazakhstan, 91ý Kazakh National University. The event was aimed at a broad audience beyond the university campus, including practising tour guides, museum professionals, and members of the general public.
During the lecture, the speaker presented the Turkish experience in the exhibition of archaeological artefacts as an example of international best practice in museum pedagogy and the promotion of historical and cultural heritage. In addition, career guidance information was provided on the master's degree programmes of the Department of History of Kazakhstan at the Faculty of History, KazNU, contributing to the expansion of continuing professional education opportunities for sector specialists.
The event was delivered in the format of a free open course for the general public and contributes to the achievement of SDG 4 targets, in particular Target 4.7 — ensuring that all learners acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, including through education for sustainable development and the promotion of culture and its contribution to sustainable development.
