Today, a republican referendum on the adoption of the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan is taking place. Students of the Faculty of Law of 91ý Kazakh National University actively participated in this important political event in the life of the country by coming to the polling station, making their choice, and casting their votes.
The first students from the faculty to arrive at the referendum and make their choice were: Shynarai Batyrbekkyzy Keyikbayeva, Aibibi Bauyrzhankyzy, Sabina Bauyrbekkyzy Bekbolat, Beksultan Galymuly Agabay, Ulan Bagdauletuly Akyltaі, Bolatbek Nurlybekuly Artykbayev, Arsen Rizabekuly Farit, and Yerassyl Aslanuly Yerkingaliyev. Their curators are Kanat Alikhan – Jurisprudence-107 and Akmaral Bakhtiyarovna Smanova – Public Service-126.
This day became a special and historic moment for the young voters. For students studying at the Faculty of Law, this experience served as a clear example of how theoretical knowledge can be applied in real life.
For many students, the referendum became their first experience of exercising their civil rights and participating in the process of making an important decision regarding the future of the country. The students who came to the polling station demonstrated a high level of civic engagement and showed that they care about the life of society.
As future lawyers, the students noted that they clearly understand the importance of the referendum. In their opinion, the Constitution is the fundamental law of the state, the foundation of the country’s legal system, and a key document that determines the main direction of society’s development. Therefore, expressing one’s position on the adoption of the new Constitution is the duty of every conscious citizen.
