AT THE DEPARTMENT OF THE FAR EAST, AMONG KAZAKH AND JAPANESE STUDENTS, A COMPETITION IN THE NATIONAL GAME — ASYK BÄIGE — TOOK PLACE
Today, March 20, 2026, in honor of the National Sports Day and the “Nauryznama” decade, a special cultural event was held at the Department of Japanese Studies of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at 91ý Kazakh National University. The event was organized within the framework of the annual winter school under the guidance of Senior Lecturer of the Department of the Far East, Gulmira Bimukhanovna Tazabekova.
In particular, a competition in the national game — Asyk Bäige — was organized for foreign students who arrived for studies from leading universities in Japan, as well as for local students.
During the event, Kazakh and Japanese students first familiarized themselves with the rules of the game, learned its features, and then enthusiastically took part in the competition with each other. This event was not only a game but also a platform for strengthening friendship among the youth of the two countries and promoting cultural exchange.
During the game, students demonstrated agility, speed, and active participation. The participants not only mastered the rules but also had the opportunity to become more acquainted with the traditional culture of the Kazakh people.
The event was organized at a high level and was both interesting and engaging. Students enjoyed themselves, exchanged experiences, and made new acquaintances. We hope that similar cultural events will continue to be held in the future.
Senior Lecturer,
Department of Far Eastern Studies Tazabekova G.B.
