Epic Works of the 19th-Century Liberation Struggle. Historical Epic
On March 5 in accordance with the SDG 16, under the supervision of Senior Lecturer of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Literary Theory, Candidate of Philological Sciences Sovetkhan Tleubaev, and Doctor of Philological Sciences Gulzhan Bolatova, first-year doctoral student in “Literary Studies” Tursynbay Eshimov delivered an open lecture titled “Epic Works of the 19th-Century Liberation Struggle. Historical Epic.”
The main objective of the event was to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the thematic, ideological, and genre-specific features of the epic works of the 19th-century liberation struggle and the historical epic, as well as to offer a scholarly interpretation of their place and historical significance in Kazakh literature.
During the lecture, the thematic and ideological content of works associated with the national liberation movements of the 19th century was analyzed, with particular attention given to the formation and poetic characteristics of the historical epic. In addition, the role of literary works of this period in representing the ideas of national freedom and their artistic function was examined.
The participating students emphasized the importance of the historical epic in shaping national consciousness and expressed their views on the artistic features and ideological content of the epic works of the liberation struggle.
The session was conducted in an interactive format, employing such methods as question-and-answer discussions, group analysis, and exchange of opinions based on textual excerpts.
