Literary Meeting with Poet Yerlan Zhunis
On March 19, 2026, within the framework of Sustainable Development Goal No. 4 “Quality Education,” the Department of Kazakh Literature and Literary Theory of the Faculty of Philology at 91ý Kazakh National University organized a literary meeting with the poet, laureate of the State “Daryn” Prize, Erlan Zhunis.
The event was organized by Doctor of Philological Sciences, Assistant Professor G.Zh. Bolatova; Candidate of Philological Sciences, Assistant Professor E.K. Karbozov; Senior Lecturers B. Bayazitov and A.K. Sargeltayeva; as well as doctoral students of the educational program “8D02304 – Literary Studies” B. Tursynbaiuly, B. Leskhankyzy, and S. Mynbayeva.
The meeting was attended by the faculty members, as well as students, master’s students, and doctoral candidates of the department.
During the event, students asked engaging questions about the poet’s creative journey, the main ideas in his works, and the development trends of modern Kazakh poetry, engaging in an open and lively discussion. The poet provided thoughtful answers, sharing his path into literature and his future creative plans.
As part of the program, second-year students Dina Baizhigitova and Damira Tursynkhan recited Erlan Zhunis’s poems by heart. In turn, the poet read his heartfelt poems, receiving warm appreciation from the audience.
At the end of the evening, the poet presented signed copies of his books to the most active students.
This meaningful and inspiring literary evening, which enriched the spiritual world of young people, will undoubtedly remain in the memory of its participants.
