Senior Lecturer of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Literary Theory of the Faculty of Philology, Sargeltayeva Ardak Kurmanalykzy, conducted an open creative seminar on the topic “Kazakh Family Folklore” with second-year students majoring in “Kazakh Philology” within the framework of SDG 4 “Quality Education.” The seminar was dedicated to the celebrations of “Shanyrak Day” and “Day of Culture and Traditions.”
The purpose of the lesson was to foster national values among young people and to promote cultural heritage passed down from generation to generation.
During the seminar, students were introduced to the role of customs and traditions as the spiritual foundation of the Kazakh people, as well as to the sacred meaning of the shanyrak as a symbol of life, ancestral heritage, and family continuity. Special emphasis was placed on the idea: “The homeland begins with the family”—a strong family strengthens social unity and serves as the foundation of the state.
The students demonstrated high engagement and actively participated in creative tasks. At the end, they shared their impressions via a Padlet board, while talented participants recited inspiring poems and performed songs.
