At the faculty of philology of Al-farabi Kazakh national university, at the department of Kazakh literature and literary theory, a literary meeting was held with the well-known writer, laureate of the “Daryn” Akberen Yelgezek.

The event, held on March 19, 2026, and based on the sustainable development goal “quality education,” was organized by assistant professor of the department of Kazakh literature and literary theory, doctor of philological sciences G.Zh. Bolatova; doctor of philological sciences, professor S.B. Erzhanova; doctor of philological sciences, professor O. Abdimanuly; candidate of philological sciences, senior lecturer Y.M. Soltanayeva; as well as first-year doctoral students of the educational program “8D02304 – Literary studies” B.K. Khassanova, E.B. Rapash, and T.N. Nyshanbayeva. The event was also attended by students, master’s, and doctoral students, who asked the author questions about the direction of contemporary literature and aspects of his creative work.

The main objective of the event was to familiarize students with the works of writer Akberen Yelgezek, to introduce them to the intricacies of the writing craft, and to present the contemporary landscape of literature.

The event was held in the format of a literary and musical evening. The evening, consisting of three parts, was also attended by faculty members, who witnessed this wonderful occasion.

In the first part of the event, Akberen Yelgezek’s novel Dardai was discussed. Third-year student Nurgali Ayaulym presented a report on the topic “Digital reader reception,” analyzing the novel from the perspective of reader perception. Meanwhile, third-year student Bekkuly Balnur delivered a report titled “The reflection of contemporary social issues in the novel,” in which she examined the social problems addressed in the work from a scientific perspective. As a result, the idea of the novel was revealed to the audience from a new angle. After each presentation, students asked questions to the author, allowing for a deeper exploration of the novel’s ideological and artistic aspects.

The second part of the event continued with expressive poetry readings by students. Third-year student Derbis Ulnaz recited the author’s poem “Minazhat”, evoking deep emotions among the audience. Meanwhile, first-year student Mukharap Arailym performed the poem “Seni eshkimge bermeymin” receiving a warm response from the audience.

The third part of the event continued with an interview with the author. Students asked questions related to the novel, attempting to better understand the author’s ideas, while master’s students raised questions about the social issues reflected in the work and sought to determine its role in world literature. Thus, an open and engaging dialogue was established between the participants and the author.

At the end of the event, a young poet and first-year student, Kulakhmet Yelsiyar, performed a dedicatory song for the author on the dombra, bringing the event to a cheerful close. At the end of the evening, students took photos with the author and received his autograph.
