Kazakh language textbook for Japanese students
The third revised edition of the textbook “Introduction to the Practical Kazakh Language”, compiled by Ninomiya Takashi and Madina Shadayeva, lecturers of the Far East Department at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, has been published by the University of Tsukuba Press. The first edition of this textbook, developed at the initiative of the University of Tsukuba, was published in 2018.
The textbook is written in Japanese and is intended for Japanese students who wish to learn the Kazakh language. It consists of 10 lessons covering the basic grammar of the beginner level, and includes a small Kazakh–Japanese and Japanese–Kazakh glossary at the end.
This textbook is used to teach Kazakh to Japanese students who come for short-term study from various universities in Japan under the university’s Summer School and Winter School programs. The authors plan to further improve the content and, in the future, compile additional exercise and reading materials.
