LiuGong Company highly appreciated KazNU's IT potential
Representatives of the Chinese giant company LiuGong visited al-Farabi Kazakh National University, where they got acquainted with modern scientific laboratories and technological capabilities of the university.
During the visit, the company's management highly appreciated the scientific potential of the educational institution.
At the beginning of the visit, the honored guests were presented with the technological capabilities of the Kazakh-Chinese Laboratory of Remote Sensing Technologies and their Applications. Opened in 2024, this laboratory is a unique and unique facility in the Central Asian region for monitoring natural resources. By ensuring environmental safety through remote monitoring technologies, the center is becoming an important international platform at the regional level.
The next complex presented to the company's representatives was the Supercomputer Center. The performance of this device based on Intel and NVIDIA processors reaches 2000 teraflops. It is the leader in its capacity in Central Asia and is among the 600 best supercomputers in the world. The center allows scientists from all over Kazakhstan to work with Big Data and create complex government models. Its computing speed is about 10,000 times faster than that of the most modern personal computer.
In addition, the guests got acquainted with the work of the key elements of the university's innovation ecosystem – the Farabi Hub Center, the International Institute of Digital Technologies and Robotics, and the Robotics Center.
Following the meeting, the management of LiuGong expressed readiness to implement joint projects with KazNU and deepen technological cooperation.
Earlier, KazNU and the Chinese company LiuGong signed a memorandum of cooperation.
