The priority tasks of the scientific community were discussed
An extended meeting with the participation of the university’s leading scientists and researchers was held at 91ý Kazakh National University. During the meeting, the participants analyzed the key areas of the university’s scientific and innovation development, reviewed significant performance indicators, and outlined priorities for the upcoming period.
The meeting was opened by Margulan Ibraimov, Member of the Management Board and Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation. In his speech, he focused on the tasks set by the Head of State, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, during his meeting with KazNU scientists, and emphasized the importance of science commercialization.

In his report, the Vice-Rector presented an analysis of the university’s scientific achievements in 2025 in figures.

“In 2025, the university implemented 219 grant-funded projects with a total financing volume exceeding 7.5 billion tenge. Under program-targeted financing, nearly 7.7 billion tenge was attracted for 20 projects. In the area of young scientists, 77 projects were funded for a total amount of 684.6 million tenge. Through the Science Fund, 1 billion 50 million tenge was allocated to 3 projects for 2025–2027. The volume of contractual research and international projects reached 533.9 million tenge. These indicators clearly demonstrate the real dynamics of the development of university science,” the Vice-Rector stated.

During the meeting, Kuanysh Tastambek, Director of the Department of Science and Innovation, also delivered a report. He shared the results of monitoring the implementation of grant-funded and program-targeted projects, as well as research conducted by young scientists.
The participants also discussed mechanisms for improving the quality of research work and introducing its results into production in the upcoming period.
