Lecture on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Delivered to Youth in Almaty

On March 29, 2026, Y.A. Kerimbayev, Deputy Head of the Department of Chinese Studies for Academic and Educational Affairs, delivered a lecture for the youth of Almaty within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The lecture, titled “The Phenomenon of Soft Power,” aligns with the scholar’s research interests. The event took place at the Almaty Community Center under the city’s Youth Policy Department. It was organized by the “Kultebe” cultural and educational youth club established under the “Otbas y Khrestomatiyasy” initiative.

The lecture was attended by students from various educational institutions in Almaty, as well as university lecturers and school teachers interested in the topic.

During the lecture, PhD Dr. Kerimbayev, a senior lecturer of the department, provided a comprehensive and engaging overview of the concept of “soft power,” which is gaining increasing importance in global politics. He discussed its essence, origins, characteristics, stages of development, and the countries actively applying it in their policies. Special attention was also given to the growing potential of Kazakhstan’s soft power.
