Students’ Emotional Well-being through Cultural and Recreational Activities
On March 26, 2026, second-year students of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies at the Faculty of Philology, Farabi Kazakh National University participated in the interactive show “World of Characters — Interactive Show with Characters” as part of SDG 3 “Good Health and Well-being.” This activity became an important part of the educational process, fostering students’ emotional intelligence, positive perception, social interaction, and cultural awareness, which are essential components of harmonious personal development and well-being.

The main goal of participation was to familiarize students with modern forms of interactive cultural recreation, as well as to develop observation, communication, and emotional responsiveness skills. Students engaged with the show’s characters — SpongeBob, LazyTown heroes, and other costumed characters — which allowed them to immerse themselves in an atmosphere of play, joy, and creative perception.
The activity sparked great interest among students and provided an opportunity to discuss the importance of positive emotional states, teamwork, collaboration, and mutual support. The presented characters and activities helped broaden students’ horizons, develop observational, analytical, and creative thinking skills, as well as enhance critical information perception.
Participation in the show enabled students not only to observe and take photos with the characters but also to share their impressions and discuss what they saw, contributing to the strengthening of their emotional well-being and social engagement.
This activity is part of the department’s program aimed at improving the quality of education by introducing students to contemporary cultural and social contexts. It contributed to the development of professional and personal competencies necessary for future careers in philology and translation studies.
