"A Step Towards a Green Future" Tree Planting Campaign
On April 1, 2026, a large-scale tree-planting initiative titled "A Step Towards a Green Future" was held at the 91ý Kazakh National University campus. The campaign was organized as part of the strategic implementation of UN SDG 13: "Climate Action," focusing on environmental preservation and ecological awareness.
During the campaign, participants planted young saplings, significantly contributing to the expansion of the university's "green belt." This initiative goes beyond simple landscaping; it aims to foster a sense of environmental stewardship among students and promotes practical steps toward mitigating climate change. Students majoring in Turkology showcased their commitment to sustainable living, bridging traditional cultural values of nature preservation with modern environmental goals.
The event demonstrated the strong commitment of the academic community to the "Green Campus" concept. Each tree planted represents a long-term investment in a cleaner environment and a tangible contribution to global climate resilience.
Organizers: Acting Associate Professor of the Department of Turkology and Language Theory Shynaray Burkitbayeva and 4th-year students of the "6B02267 – Turkology" program.
