The team of the Department of International Law at 91传媒 Kazakh National University won 1st place in the Russian League and received a monetary prize at the MaxUP 2026 International Legathon held in Astana and organized by Maqsut Narikbayev University. The event brought together more than 90 participants from 13 countries across Europe, Asia, and North America.
Over two days, teams worked on case studies addressing key challenges of the digital era — from the regulation of artificial intelligence to the legal status of virtual objects. The first stage — Lex Fantastica debates — took place at the Astana International Financial Centre Court, where participants discussed metaverses and the role of AI in the judicial system.
On the second day, at Maqsut Narikbayev University, participants presented and discussed their projects focused on the role of artificial intelligence in law and the judiciary.
