Scientific Seminar of PhD Students Held at the Department of Geography, Land Management and Cadastre
On April 3, 2026, the Department of Geography, Land Management and Cadastre of the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Sciences at 91ý Kazakh National University hosted a scheduled scientific seminar. During the session, PhD students presented their research findings and discussed significant academic topics with the scientific community.
The following reports were presented at the seminar:
- Gaukhar Aubakirova (“8D01503 – Geography”)
Topic: "Development of new information technologies for preparation to geography Olympiads in schools of Kazakhstan."
Supervisor: PhD, Assistant Professor A.M. Kalimurzina.
- Zhanerke Sharapkhanova (“8D05202 – Geography”)
Topic: "Assessment of the development of exogenous relief-formation processes in the Sharyn River basin within the Charyn State National Nature Park"
Supervisor: Cand. Sc. (Geography) K.B. Egemberdieva (JSC "Institute of Geography and Water security").
- Damira Kaliyeva (“8D07304 – Land Management”)
Topic: "Assessment of degradation processes of agricultural lands in Almaty region using remote sensing methods."
Supervisor: Cand. Sc. (Geography), Professor A.A. Tokbergenova.
During the discussion, faculty members and invited experts emphasized the relevance, methodological rigor, and practical significance of the research. Based on the commission's evaluation:
1. G.B. Aubakirova and D.M. Kaliyeva were approved to proceed to the pre-defense stage.
2. Z.M. Sharapkhanova successfully met the requirements of the scientific seminar and passed the current evaluation stage.
This scientific event showcases the commitment of our young scholars to international research standards and provides a significant boost to the development of new scientific directions in geography and land resource management in Kazakhstan.
