On March 31, 2026, under the supervision of Professor Saule Baimyrzakovna Erzhanova, Doctor of Philological Sciences, from the Department of Kazakh Literature and Literary Theory of the Faculty of Philology, a first-year Master's student of the “Literary Studies” program, Lili, conducted an open seminar for third-year students on the discipline “Comparative Literature and Folkloristics” on the topic “Comparison of Folklore Variants.” The seminar was organized within the framework of the CIS Priority Area 4 – “Quality Education.” The main objective of the session was to identify the folkloric connections between Kazakh and Chinese proverbs and sayings, as well as to analyze them from structural, functional, and thematic perspectives in order to demonstrate intercultural literary interactions. During the seminar, such methods as pair work, question-and-answer techniques, and SWOT analysis were employed. In addition, feedback was collected through QR codes. Furthermore, participants demonstrated an enhanced understanding of intercultural relations and a high level of engagement. The seminar contributed to a deeper understanding of the comparative method in literary studies, the development of critical thinking skills in analyzing folklore texts, and the expansion of students’ academic perspectives on literary values.
