The 3rd Section of the International Scientific Conference “Farabi Alemi” Was Held at the Department of Biophysics, Biomedicine and Neuroscience

On April 7, 2026, the International Scientific Conference of Students and Young Scientists “Farabi Alemi” was held at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology. Within the framework of the conference, the 3rd section entitled “Current Challenges in Biophysics, Physiology, Biological Education, Biomedicine and Neuroscience” was organized at the Department of Biophysics, Biomedicine and Neuroscience.

During the session, 20 oral and 4 poster presentations were presented, including: 7 presentations – Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University (Almaty, Kazakhstan); 1 presentation – Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (Moscow, Russia); 1 presentation – Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute (Tashkent, Uzbekistan); 1 presentation – M.Kh. Dulaty University (Taraz, Kazakhstan); 1 presentation – Republican Higher Medical College (Almaty, Kazakhstan); 9 presentations – 91ý Kazakh National University (Almaty, Kazakhstan).

The session was opened by the Chair of the Commission, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Biophysics, Biomedicine and Neuroscience, Almira Melsovna Kustubayeva, who wished the participants success.

The evaluation committee consisted of:

1. Nurzhanyat Tatukhanovna Ablaykhanova – Candidate of Biological Sciences, Professor;

2. Alibek Ydyrys – PhD, Professor;

3.  Lyazzat Zhanbulatovna Gumarova – Candidate of Biological Sciences, Professor;

4.  Zhandos Makhabatovich Basygaraev – Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor.

According to the results of the competition:

First Prize was awarded to: Kanat Omirbayuly Yeliubayev, a 2nd-year Master’s student of 91ý Kazakh National University. Topic: “Digital Phenotyping of Cognitive and Affective Responses in Gamified Mobile Learning.” Supervisor: Candidate of Biological Sciences, Senior Lecturer G.K. Datkhabaeva.

Second Prize was awarded to: Nail Ilshatovich Garifullin, a 2nd-year Master’s student of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. Topic: “Quantitative markers of orientation activity as predictors of search strategies in the Barnes maze test in mice.” Supervisor: Kristina Andreevna Kritskaya, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Researcher.

Second Prize was awarded to: Azizakhon Ravshan Khusniddinova, a 4th-year student of the Faculty of Industrial Pharmacy, Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute. Topic: “Evaluation of the cytotoxic properties of glycyrrhizic acid in human breast cancer cells.” Supervisors: Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor B.J. Azimova; Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor A.T. Sharipov.

Third Prize was awarded to: Korlan Bolatkyzy Aitzhan, a 4th-year student of 91ý Kazakh National University; Aizhan Kairatkyzy Aitmakhanbet, a 2nd-year student of M.Kh. Dulaty University; Gulnaz Nurkenkyzy Muratova, a 4th-year Master’s student of 91ý Kazakh National University.

 

In addition, other participants were awarded incentive awards from the faculty.
