Report on Section 10 of the “Farabi Alemi – 2026” Conference

On April 7, 2026, Section 10 was held at 91ý Kazakh National University within the framework of the International Scientific and Practical Conference of Students and Young Scholars “Farabi Alemi – 2026.”

Section title:
Section 10. Innovative approaches to teaching foreign languages for specific purposes

The conference was conducted offline from 11:00 to 14:00 in Room 228 of the Faculty of International Relations.

In the opening remarks, the chair welcomed the participants, wished them success, and emphasized the importance of innovative approaches in teaching foreign languages for specific purposes in the modern context. The relevance of supporting young researchers and enhancing their interest in scientific inquiry was also highlighted.

More than 20 presentations were delivered during the session. Participants included undergraduate and graduate students from 91ý Kazakh National University, Ablai Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages, and other higher education institutions.

The presentations addressed current issues in the modern education system and were grouped into the following key areas:

  • application of artificial intelligence in foreign language teaching;
  • digital learning environments and EdTech technologies;
  • cognitive approaches and innovative teaching models;
  • issues in translation studies and intercultural communication;
  • development of professionally oriented language competence.

A significant number of presentations focused on teaching Chinese for specific purposes. In particular, they examined the use of AI tools, the effectiveness of digital platforms, optimization of cognitive load in language learning, the flipped classroom model, microlearning, and the role of audiovisual translation in education.

Additionally, studies in translation addressed the preservation of cultural specificity, terminological accuracy, advantages and limitations of AI-based translation, and media text analysis. These contributions helped identify emerging directions in contemporary translation studies.

Each presentation was followed by a Q&A session, which led to substantive discussions between participants and academic supervisors. The questions contributed to deepening the research and providing more comprehensive coverage of the topics. Special attention was given to the role of AI in language learning, its effectiveness and limitations, as well as the impact of digital technologies on education quality.

At the end of the conference, the best presentations were selected:

  • 1st place – Kaisar Zarina;
  • 2nd place – Shakirt Ali, Bolatov Beibarys;
  • 3rd place – Chuvasova Milana, Paizullayeva Zukhra, Omirzak Diana.

The winners were awarded diplomas, and all participants received certificates.

Overall, the work of Section 10 was organized at a high academic and methodological level and was distinguished by active participation and the relevance of the topics discussed. The conference provided valuable opportunities for developing the research potential of young scholars, exchanging experience, and engaging with contemporary academic trends.
