On April 7, 2026, the “Yapurai” gala choral performance was held at the Abai Kazakh National Opera and Ballet Theatre as part of the Almaty–Shanghai Business Forum. The large-scale cultural event was attended by the Akim of Almaty, Darkhan Satybaldy, and the Mayor of Shanghai, Gong Zheng, who emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral cultural and humanitarian ties.

During the gala concert, the audience was presented with a high-quality choral performance that harmoniously combined national and contemporary musical pieces. The event became an important platform for enhancing cultural exchange between Kazakhstan and China.

Faculty members of the Department of Chinese Studies also attended the concert and were deeply impressed by the cultural evening.
