Partnership with Sinop University is expanding
At Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Deputy Chairman of the Board – First Vice-Rector Yerkin Duisenov met with a delegation from Sinop University (Turkiye) headed by Rector Shakir Tashdemir.
The parties discussed issues of increasing academic mobility and joint implementation of fundamental scientific research.
During the meeting, Yerkin Duisenov noted that KazNU's strategic partnership with higher education institutions in Turkiye is systemic. To date, the university has established close ties with more than 40 leading universities in the fraternal country, and the KazNU branch in Istanbul is also successfully operating. In order to expand cooperation, the first Vice-rector proposed launching dual degree programs and intensifying the exchange of students and teachers within the framework of the Erasmus+ and Orkhun projects. In addition, he stressed the strategic importance of creating joint laboratories in the fields of medicine, biotechnology, IT and Turkology.

In turn, the rector of Sinope University Shakir Tashdemir thanked for the warm welcome and noted that establishing a partnership with a leading university in Kazakhstan is a great honor. Focusing on the internationalization policy of Sinop University, he expressed his willingness to share the experience of the teaching staff and implement joint cultural and educational projects.

At the end of the meeting, the parties identified a specific roadmap for deepening partnership and agreed to implement projects aimed at increasing the scientific potential of the Turkic world.
