KazNU scientists presented the results of the national LLM model project
An international scientific and practical workshop on "Responsible ai: navigating the future of Kazakh language models" was held at al-Farabi Kazakh National University as part of the V International Farabi Forum.
The workshop was attended by leading IT scientists, researchers and young scientists. The participants discussed the development, implementation and responsible, ethical use of large language models (LLM) for the Kazakh language.
In addition, the event was aimed at developing domestic research in the field of artificial intelligence and strengthening cooperation in the scientific community.
Alina Galeeva, a member of the KazNU Board and Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, spoke at the opening ceremony. In her speech, she stressed the strategic importance of developing national language technologies in the context of global digital transformation.
Within the framework of the program, the results of the project "Creating a large language model (LLM) to support the Kazakh language and technological progress", implemented within the framework of program-targeted financing, were presented. The participants were shown prototypes of intelligent systems and applied solutions developed by the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data of KazNU.
During the workshop, industry experts made presentations and exchanged experiences. In particular, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, Professor Madina Mansurova, General Director of the National Scientific and Practical Center "Til-Kazyna" named after Sh.n. presented their suggestions and opinions on the development of artificial intelligence and information technologies.Shayakhmetova Makpal Zhumabai, Nazarbayev University researchers Yerol Absalyamov and Zhanat Makatayeva, as well as professors at Aubuda University (Hungary) Amir Mosavi and Imre Felde.
