Working Meeting Held within the Framework of a Scientific Project
A working meeting of the research team implementing project AR26199673 titled “Environmental Assessment of Technogenic Pollution of the Soil Cover of Almaty City Using GIS Technologies” was held at 91ý Kazakh National University, Faculty of geography and environmental sciences.
During the meeting, in accordance with the project’s calendar plan, the main goals and objectives of the research were clarified, and the upcoming stages of work were comprehensively discussed. Members of the research team exchanged views on assessing the level of technogenic pollution of the soil cover in Almaty, analyzing spatial data using geographic information systems (GIS), preparing cartographic materials, and scientifically interpreting the obtained results. 
This research is directly related to several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In particular:
SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities. The project results aim to enhance environmental safety in the urban environment, assess anthropogenic pressure, and support sustainable urban development. The indicators are related to increasing the environmental sustainability of cities and reducing negative environmental impacts.
SDG 15 – Life on Land. Identifying the level of soil contamination and assessing its impact on ecosystems correspond to the objectives of protecting land resources, preventing soil degradation, and maintaining the sustainability of terrestrial ecosystems.
