The Department of Chinese Studies held the first round of the International Public Speaking Competition among students.
On April 3, 2026, the Department of Chinese Studies at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, under the supervision of organizer Saparbayeva N., conducted the first round of the International Public Speaking Contest. Students of the Department of Chinese Studies took part in the event. The objective of the contest was to identify the most talented participants, as well as to enhance students’ public speaking skills in a foreign language as an important means of self-realization and social adaptation.
In achieving this objective, particular emphasis was placed on developing students’ communicative competence, mastering the fundamentals of rhetoric, and acquiring skills in preparing and delivering public speeches using both verbal and non-verbal means of communication. In addition, attention was given to fostering creative thinking, encouraging the ability to find innovative solutions, creating favorable conditions for students’ self-realization, and increasing their social and creative activity. Furthermore, the contest aimed to identify gifted students with a high level of language proficiency and oratory skills.
The teaching staff of the Department of Chinese Studies approached the preparation of students with a high level of responsibility, demonstrating professionalism and a high standard of participant training.
The contest was held at a high organizational and academic level, demonstrating a strong interest among students in developing public speaking skills, intercultural communication, and advanced foreign language proficiency.
