New Horizons in Science: International Experience of KazNU Master鈥檚 Students
Within the framework of SDG 4: Quality Education, Master’s students of the educational programmes “7M02312 – Foreign Philology (Western Languages)” and “7M02303 – Translation Studies (Western Languages)” of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Studies, Faculty of Philology, 91传媒 Kazakh National University, completed a research internship at Uzbekistan State World Languages University in Tashkent from February 23 to March 8, 2026.
The internship became an important stage in the students’ academic and professional development. Its main purpose was to deepen their theoretical knowledge and practical research skills in the field of philology, collect materials for their Master’s theses, and establish academic contacts with scholars and faculty members of the host university.
The programme began with the students’ arrival in Tashkent and their introduction to the academic environment of the host institution. During an orientation tour, the Master’s students learned more about the university’s structure, the work of its Faculty of Philology, and the resources available in its research library. They also visited the National Library, whose extensive collection of scholarly literature provided valuable support for their research interests.
A significant part of the internship was devoted to academic consultations held from February 26 to March 1. These meetings focused on current issues in philological research, methods of literary text analysis, and contemporary trends in the development of philological science. The discussions allowed the students to broaden their academic perspective and refine their research approaches.
From March 2 to March 4, the Master’s students carried out intensive research work in the university library. During this period, they collected and systematized materials necessary for the preparation of their theses, working with scholarly articles, monographs, and other relevant sources related to their individual topics.
The internship also included work on preparing research materials for future publications and participation in international academic conferences. As a result, the students compiled a substantial list of relevant scholarly sources that will support their further studies and future academic writing.
An especially valuable part of the programme was the academic consultation with Professor Dusmamat Sattarovich Kulmamatov, during which the students discussed the results of their work and received professional recommendations for the further development of their research and the preparation of academic publications.
At the end of the internship, the participants prepared a report summarizing the research work they had completed. Overall, the internship made a meaningful contribution to broadening their academic outlook, deepening their knowledge of literary text analysis, strengthening their command of modern research approaches, and building sustainable academic ties with scholars and faculty members of Uzbekistan State World Languages University.
