The event “Educational Inequality: Why It Matters” and Sustainable Development Goal No. 10 “Reduced Inequalities”.
The aim of the event was to demonstrate, using examples from different countries, how access to quality education determines a person’s success in modern society. The event was attended by lecturers and first-year students of the Kazakh and Russian departments, as well as students from the People’s Republic of China, Ren Ruizi and Zhang Shiyun, who are studying in the Russian department of the Faculty of Physics and Technology at 91ý Kazakh National University.
As part of the discussion on Sustainable Development Goal No. 10 “Reduced Inequalities,” students conducted a comparative analysis of educational inequality and clearly demonstrated why this issue requires attention today. Particular interest was generated by a video survey in which students presented the opinions of their peers on the issues of inequality. This made it possible to see the real attitude of the youth community toward the topic. At the end of the event, participants consolidated their knowledge through a competitive game format. In general, discussing such topics helps to better understand global issues.
At the end of the event, all participants were awarded certificates.
