A Meeting that United Literature and Spirituality
SDG-17 On April 8, a meeting distinguished by its profound spiritual content and high educational value was held at the Faculty of Journalism of 91ý Kazakh National University. A renowned Chinese writer, translator, and former member of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Akbar Majit, специально visited the faculty and met with students – future journalists.
The meeting was ceremonially opened with a heartfelt welcoming speech by Acting Dean of the Faculty, Manshuk Tynyshkaliyevna Mukasheva.
The event turned into a vibrant platform for dialogue and left a strong impression on the students. The writer spoke about his life journey and shared his reflections on creative pursuits and spiritual responsibility. He noted that for many years he served as Deputy Director of the Publishing Group of the Writers’ Union of China and was also the Editor-in-Chief of the prestigious literary journals Chinese Writers and Literature of the Peoples. This experience undoubtedly played a significant role in shaping his place in the literary world.
One of the most memorable moments of the evening was the author’s sincere and emotional reflection on his works. Through such pieces as «Poor Fifteen-Year-Old Khalida», «The Lame Kulan», «Prophet Muhammad», and «Mukali», he reveals the deep complexities of the human soul and depicts the intersection of history and destiny. He also shared his experience of translating Abai Kunanbayev’s «Words of Edification» into Chinese, vividly explaining how the legacy of the great thinker reached Chinese readers.
A member of the Writers’ Union of China, лауреат Государственной премии Китая, and a recipient of the «Dostyk» Order of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Akbar Majit continues his literary work in Chinese and is the author of around 30 books. His works serve as a unique bridge connecting national literature with world culture.
During the meeting, students asked questions and received valuable professional advice. The writer particularly emphasized the importance of honesty in creative work, constant reading, and learning languages.
At the end of the event, the Dean, faculty members, and master’s students expressed their gratitude to the distinguished guest, noting the great importance of such meaningful meetings for the younger generation.
This meeting will undoubtedly remain in the students’ memory as a vivid example of spiritual continuity and literary connection.
