Outcomes of the International Conference “Farabi Alemi – 2026”

Within the framework of the International Scientific Conference “Farabi Alemi – 2026,” the results of the student and young researcher research competition were summarized. The conference serves as an important academic platform aimed at identifying the scientific potential of participants, enhancing their research competencies, and supporting innovative ideas.

According to the results, the first place was awarded to third-year student Äşim Äsem for the innovative project “Asyl Zher,” which focuses on improving soil fertility. The project demonstrates a high level of scientific novelty and practical relevance, offering effective solutions for sustainable agricultural development. Scientific supervisor – Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Nurgul Bergenova.

The second place was awarded to fourth-year student Isädil Aqtilek Almatkyzy for her research on unconscious bias and service quality in the hospitality industry. The study analyzes the impact of cognitive biases on service delivery and proposes approaches to mitigate them. The results are of significant practical importance for improving service management. Scientific supervisor – PhD candidate, Senior Lecturer Eldar Nuruly.

The third place was awarded to first-year student Ospanova Adiya Yerbolkyzy for her study on the stability of the stage–discharge relationship based on the example of the Turgen River (Tauturgen gauging station). The research contributes to improving the accuracy of hydrological observations and effective water resource management. Scientific supervisor – Senior Lecturer Almat Erdesbay.

In addition, first-year master’s student Zhanshayeva Gulnaz Sherizatovna presented a study assessing the 30-year dynamics (1994–2024) of green spaces and built-up areas in Almaty using GIS and remote sensing methods. This research is relevant for understanding urbanization processes and evaluating changes in urban ecosystems. Scientific supervisor – PhD, Associate Research Professor Yerkin Kakimzhanov.

The presented works were distinguished by their relevance, methodological rigor, and application of modern scientific approaches. The outcomes of the conference contribute to the advancement of research activities among young scientists and support the development of future researchers.
