Section: “Current Issues of Modern Criminal Law, Penal Enforcement Law, and Criminology”

   On April 9, 2026, at 91ý Kazakh National University, a session titled “Current Issues of Modern Criminal Law, Penal Enforcement Law, and Criminology” was held within the framework of the International Scientific Conference of Students and Young Scientists “Farabi Alemi”.

    The session served as an important academic platform for discussing key developments in modern criminal law, the penal enforcement system, and criminology. Participants presented research on pressing issues such as the prevention of penitentiary crime, the limits of necessary defense, cybercrime, legal regulation of deepfake technologies, human cloning, and the role of artificial intelligence in criminal law.

     The competition committee was approved by the faculty dean and consisted of four members:
Chair — Candidate of Legal Sciences, Professor G.M. Atakhanova.
Members: Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor M.K. Bissenova; Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor M.E. Akbolatova; PhD, Associate Professor A.B. Izbassova.
Secretary — Master of Legal Sciences, Lecturer G.S. Alimgazy.

     A total of 30 papers were submitted, of which 28 were included in the conference program. The presentations demonstrated a high academic standard, the relevance of the topics, and a strong commitment to in-depth analysis of contemporary legal issues.

     According to the decision of the competition committee, the winners were determined as follows:
1st place — Erenat R. (91ý Kazakh National University, 3rd year)

2nd place — Rakhmetulin A., Azamatkyzy Zh., Yelmurat E.A., Lukman D.Zh., Bakytbek A.

3rd place — Tuzel Aisha, Dulatbayev A.A., Nurkanat U.

     The session highlighted the relevance of contemporary research in criminal law, penal enforcement law, and criminology. The presentations of young scholars focused on improving law enforcement practices, addressing new challenges of the digital era, and advancing criminal policy.

   This session within the “Farabi Alemi” conference clearly demonstrated the high scientific potential of young researchers and their significant contribution to the development of criminal law science.
