IV Student Short Film Festival 鈥淒ura lex, sed lex鈥�
On April 10, 2026, the IV Student Short Film Festival “Dura lex, sed lex” was held at the Faculty of Law of 91传媒 Kazakh National University under the supervision of Professor G.N. Mukhamadiyeva from the Department of Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and Criminology. The event was aimed at developing students’ practical skills in the field of criminal procedure, increasing interest in the study of criminal procedural legislation, and forming professional competencies through creative activities.
Within the framework of the festival, participants presented video works that were evaluated by the jury in terms of the visual representation of the detention of a suspect, the conduct of investigative actions, compliance with the requirements of criminal procedural legislation, the quality of filming and editing, as well as the level of creative approach to completing the assignment. Special attention was paid to the legal accuracy of the depicted scenes and their practical significance for the future professional activities of students.
As part of the film festival, the “Golden Owl” film award was established. Additionally, a “Audience Choice Award” was provided, determined by online voting in a Telegram channel.
The event contributed to strengthening students’ theoretical knowledge, developing practical skills in the application of criminal procedural legislation, as well as enhancing creative activity and team interaction among participants.
