The head of Mastercard shared the secrets of building a successful career
A leadership lecture by Sanzhar Zhamalov, CEO of Mastercard in Kazakhstan and Central Asian countries, was held at al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The event was attended by students and teachers of the Higher School of Economics and Business, as well as the Faculty of Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence.
Introducing the guest of honor, Vice-rector for Research and Innovation Margulan Ibraimov emphasized the importance of such meetings for the professional development of students. Sanzhar Zhamalov is an experienced manager who has accumulated extensive experience in domestic and international financial institutions such as ING Bank and the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan. According to the Vice-rector, a direct dialogue with the head of a global technology company opens the way for young people to understand current trends in the financial industry.
The lecture was dedicated to the topic "Lifelong Learning: how to build your own development system and why it is important to study even after graduation." The speaker noted that in the modern digital age, a diploma is only the initial stage, and in order to achieve real success, it is necessary to constantly update professional skills. "In an environment where knowledge becomes obsolete very quickly, only those specialists who are able to adapt to changes and learn new things remain competitive",- S. Zhamalov emphasized.
The second part of the meeting was held in the format of an open dialogue. The students received comprehensive answers to questions about building a career in international companies, developing leadership skills and the new demands of the labor market.
