Second-year doctoral students of the “8D02210 – Archaeology” educational program at the Department of Archaeology, Ethnology and Museology, Faculty of History of 91��ý Kazakh National University, Aidos Kalshabayev and Rinat Sharipov, visited the Republic of Turkey as part of a scientific internship, where they held a series of important meetings aimed at strengthening international academic cooperation.

During the visit, the young researchers attended the laboratory of the “Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage” department at Hacı Bayram Veli University in Ankara. They met with the laboratory director, PhD, Professor Yaşar Selçuk Şener, as well as with foreign academic advisor, PhD, Professor Atakan Akşay.

The main objective of the meeting was to discuss current issues in archaeology and key aspects of the doctoral research projects. Particular attention was given to the preservation, restoration, and digitalization of cultural heritage.

The participants also explored the potential of modern technologies, especially artificial intelligence, in archaeological research. It was noted that AI can significantly enhance the analysis, processing, and interpretation of archaeological data, thereby increasing research efficiency and enabling new scientific discoveries.

The doctoral students presented interim results of their research and received valuable feedback and recommendations from international experts. The foreign scholars highly appreciated the academic relevance and practical significance of the presented work.

In addition, the parties discussed prospects for future collaboration, including joint research projects, co-authored publications, and the development of academic mobility programs.

This meeting is expected to contribute to strengthening international scientific cooperation and to facilitate the integration of young Kazakhstani researchers into the global academic community.
