Young Scientists Presented Research Results at an International Conference
On April 8–10, 2026, an international scientific and practical conference of young scientists titled “Study of Botanical Diversity of Kazakhstan’s Flora: Traditions and Modern Research Approaches” was held at the Institute of Botany and Phytointroduction in Almaty. The event was dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the outstanding scientist M.S. Baitenov.
The conference brought together young researchers, master’s and PhD students, and scientists from various regions of Kazakhstan and abroad. Representatives of the Department of Botany and Agroecology actively participated and contributed by presenting their research work.
The conference program was rich and diverse. During the plenary session, key issues related to the development of botanical science, the study of Kazakhstan’s flora, and the preservation of scientific heritage were discussed. These topics were further elaborated in the sectional sessions.
At the sectional meetings, participants delivered presentations in areas such as plant systematics, floristics, plant introduction, geobotany, ecology, molecular genetics, and bioinformatics. The scientific potential of the Department of Botany and Agroecology was clearly demonstrated, and the presented studies attracted considerable attention.
During the conference, Anelya, Daulet, and I delivered a presentation, sharing the results of our research. The presentation covered the relevance of the topic, objectives, methodology, results obtained, and their scientific and practical significance. The work generated active discussion among participants and reflects the research direction of the Department of Botany and Agroecology.
The Department of Botany and Agroecology plays a crucial role in supporting young scientists by creating a strong academic environment for research development. Participation in such events enhances academic collaboration, promotes knowledge exchange, and contributes to professional growth.
Furthermore, the conference contributed to strengthening international cooperation and increasing the academic visibility of the Department of Botany and Agroecology.
As part of the program, participants visited the botanical garden and took part in an экскурсия to the Tamgaly Petroglyphs.
Overall, the conference served as an important platform for scientific dialogue, knowledge exchange, and the development of new research initiatives. For the Department of Botany and Agroecology, participation in this event represents a valuable contribution to the advancement of science.
