A large-scale expert session was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University with the participation of representatives of the Times Higher Education Agency (THE), consultant Shiraz Hassan and senior consultant Louise Lee.

The seminar, organized in the Birimzhanov Hall, began with an in-depth analysis of the results of the world university ranking and moved on to discussing issues of increasing the university's global competitiveness.

During the meeting, Shiraz Hassan stressed that the rating is not just a set of numbers, but an important indicator reflecting the real state of affairs at the university. In turn, Louise Lee noted that these indicators should serve as an effective tool for strategic decision-making for leading educational institutions. The participants discussed in detail the issues of synchronizing the university's goals with the WUR rating indicators and their effective application in practice.

As part of the practical part of the session, focus groups were held with staff from the fields of science and education, where the relationship between the educational process, scientific activity and international cooperation was comprehensively analyzed. According to experts, this approach makes it possible to clearly identify the correlation between the quality of education, the activity of scientific publications and participation in global research networks.

In addition, at the meeting with the coordinators of international relations, the mechanisms of constant interaction with external stakeholders and the impact of strategic partnership on the long-term development of the university were discussed. The session, which took place in the format of a meaningful strategic dialogue, identified specific areas for strengthening the university's reputation and improving the quality of education.
