«FARABI ALEMI – 2026»: International Conference Enhancing the Scientific Potential of Young Researchers at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics
From April 7 to 9, 2026, the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of 91ý Kazakh National University hosted the international scientific conference “FARABI ALEMI” for students and young researchers within the framework of the traditional “Farabi Forum.”
The conference served as an important platform aimed at advancing science, education, and innovation, providing young researchers with broad opportunities to enhance their scientific potential, exchange experience, and generate new research ideas. The event addressed current trends in modern science, issues of improving research quality, expanding international scientific cooperation, and strengthening the integration of science and education.
During the conference, participants presented relevant scientific reports in the fields of mechanics, mathematics, computational sciences and statistics, as well as mathematical and computer modeling, engaging in comprehensive discussions on both theoretical and practical issues. These areas are strategically important as they directly contribute to the development of digital transformation, artificial intelligence, data analysis, and complex systems modeling.
Sectional sessions conducted in three languages (Kazakh, Russian, and English) facilitated open communication within the international scientific community and contributed to the development of participants’ academic communication skills. In addition, young researchers had the opportunity to present their work to a wider audience, gain professional experience, and establish connections within the scientific community.
The plenary session addressed key issues in the mentioned scientific areas and included a total of 8 presentations. The reports covered the application of modern mathematical methods, improvement of computational models, research on mechanical systems, and new approaches to data processing. Participants engaged in meaningful discussions of both theoretical and practical significance.
Based on the results of the session, the best presentations were identified, and the following participants were nominated for awards:
Winners:
- 1st Degree Diploma – Meir Sraily (Department of Mechanics, Bachelor’s program, 3rd year; academic supervisor: Senior Lecturer Akhmetova B.I.)
- 2nd Degree Diploma – Tomiris Mukhanova (Department of Computational Sciences and Statistics, Master’s program, 1st year; academic supervisor: )
- 3rd Degree Diploma – Danesh Duskaliyev (Department of Mathematical and Computer Modeling, Bachelor’s program, 4th year; academic supervisor: Senior Lecturer Sabirova Yu.F.)
Following the conference, the winners were awarded special diplomas, and all participants received certificates of appreciation. Such recognition enhances students’ interest in research activities and supports the development of young scientists.
These achievements are also aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals:
- SDG 4 – Quality Education: developing the scientific potential of students and young researchers, improving the quality of education, and enhancing research skills;
- SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals: strengthening cooperation between scientific communities, promoting knowledge exchange, and fostering international scientific collaboration.
The plenary session demonstrated that this platform plays a significant role in developing the scientific potential of young researchers, facilitating knowledge exchange, and generating new ideas. Overall, the international scientific conference “FARABI ALEMI” once again confirmed its important role in advancing research activities among young scientists and contributing to the country’s scientific and innovative development.
