At the Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science of 91ý Kazakh National University, a guest lecture was held within the framework of implementing Sustainable Development Goal 3 (“Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages”) with the participation of Pavel Savin, a project coordinator of the public foundation “AMAN” and a representative of a rehabilitation center.
The event was dedicated to the early identification of risks associated with addictive behavior and modern approaches to supporting individuals with addictions. During the lecture, the speaker presented practice-oriented methods used in the social sphere and elaborated on the role of social workers in preventing addictions and organizing interagency cooperation.
The lecture also covered contemporary approaches to working with people with drug dependence, including early risk detection (behavioral changes, decreased activity) and the role of social workers. An important aspect was “peer-to-peer counseling,” based on the personal experience of the counselor. Special attention was paid to the issue of stigmatization, which hinders rehabilitation, and to the need for a tolerant attitude.
The guest lecture generated significant interest among students majoring in sociology and social work, as well as all those interested in issues of social prevention and support. Such events contribute not only to the expansion of professional knowledge but also to the development of a humanistic perspective on complex social issues.
