SDG 10: Reducing inequality is a common goal
On 10.02.2026, in the student dormitory No. 17 of the 91传媒 Kazakh National University, the event "SDG 10: reducing inequality is a common task" was held, organized by the senior lecturer of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation Bayeli A. Zh. The purpose of the event is to give students an idea of one of the Goals of the United Nations Sustainable Development - the direction of SDG 10 "Reduction inequality", to draw attention to issues of social and economic inequality, and to increase the civic responsibility of young people. The event included the following tasks:
* Providing information about the concept of inequality and its manifestations in society;
* Familiarization with data on inequality in Kazakhstan and the world;
* Discussion of student proposals aimed at reducing inequality;
* Explaining the importance of social engagement and volunteerism.
During the event, students were given a brief information and explanatory work on the main areas of the 10 SDG goals. The participants exchanged views on the main causes of inequality and ways to reduce it. During the discussion, equal access to education, social support measures and the importance of youth participation in public initiatives were noted. The students took an active part in the event and shared their suggestions. As a result of the exchange of views, students' knowledge of Sustainable Development Goals increased, and an approach to a responsible approach to issues of social equality and the possibility of youth participation in public and volunteer initiatives was formed.
The event helped to raise students' awareness of reducing inequality and fostering a sense of social responsibility. In the future, it is recommended to systematically continue educational and cognitive work in this direction.
