Academic Integrity in the Era of Artificial Intelligence
On April 17, 2026, an insightful event titled "Artificial Intelligence and Law: Academic Integrity in the Era of Artificial Intelligence" was held at the Department of Turkology and Language Theory, Faculty of Philology, 91ý Kazakh National University. Organized as an interactive discussion, the meeting aimed to foster academic culture, legal literacy, and critical thinking skills among students.

The event covered the legal and ethical dimensions of integrating AI tools into the educational process. Participants explored the evolving definition of academic integrity in today’s digital landscape, focusing on author responsibility, proper citation techniques, and the preservation of intellectual independence while utilizing AI.
In the practical session, students analyzed real-world scenarios through the lens of academic ethics. This exercise helped them distinguish between honest and dishonest academic practices in their daily studies, encouraging active engagement and a deeper understanding of the topic.
A significant focus of the event was the development of critical thinking. It was emphasized that digital tools, including AI, should be viewed as supportive resources rather than sources of ready-made answers. Students gained a profound understanding of the importance of information analysis, questioning data, and taking personal responsibility for their academic choices.
Participants highly praised the event for its relevance and practical value, noting that such discussions are essential for strengthening the culture of academic integrity and digital literacy in the modern higher education environment.
