A Transdisciplinary Approach to the Study of Literature and the Training of Literary Scholars in the Age of Digital Technologies
On 16 April 2026, 91ý Kazakh National University hosted an International scientific-practical conference on the theme: “A Transdisciplinary Approach to the Study of Literature and the Training of Literary Scholars in the Digital Age”. The conference was organised by the Department of Kazakh Literature and Theory of Literature and the Educational-Methodological Association of the Republican Educational-Methodological Council at 91ý Kazakh National University.

The conference was attended by writers, leading domestic and international literary scholars, university lecturers, secondary school teachers and representatives of publishing houses. Welcoming addresses were delivered by A.K. Galeeva, Member of the Board and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at 91ý Kazakh National University; dean of Philological Faculty, Higher Doctorate of Philolological Sciences, Full Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan B.U. Dzholdasbekova, Scientific Secretary of the Educational Methodical Association of Republican Educational and Methodological Association (EMA REMA), Higher Doctorate of Philosophical Sciences, Full Professor A.S. Syrgakbaeva. Conference moderators – Acting Head of the Department of Kazakh Literature and Theory of Literature, Candidate of Philological Sciences S.D. During the discussion, it was noted that, against the backdrop of the rapid development of artificial intelligence and digital technologies, humanities education and, literary studies in particular, are becoming a strategic resource for spiritual resilience, the cultural development of society, and the formation of personal values. Particular attention was paid to the significance of Kazakh literature as an essential component of higher education, to the training of a new generation of literary scholars, and to striking a balance between the humanities tradition and digital innovation. The conference served as an important platform for professional dialogue on the future of humanities knowledge in the age of artificial intelligence and digital technologies.
