An Open Lesson on “My Rights and Responsibilities”

An open curatorial hour entitled “My Rights and Responsibilities” was held at the Faculty of Physics and Technology of 91ý Kazakh National University on April 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The event was organized for the students of the group with the aim of increasing their awareness of their fundamental rights and responsibilities within the university environment, strengthening their sense of responsibility in the educational process, and emphasizing the importance of academic culture, discipline, and compliance with internal regulations.Responsible curator: A.S. During the session, the rights of students at 91ý Kazakh National University were explained in detail. In particular, it was noted that students have the right to receive a quality education, to use the university’s library, laboratories, and electronic educational resources, and to participate actively in scientific, social, and cultural activities. They also have the right to express their opinions freely, to put forward suggestions related to the educational process, and to demonstrate initiative through student organizations and university events. These rights are essential for creating a supportive academic environment in which every student can develop intellectually, socially, and professionally.

In addition, significant attention was given to the discussion of students’ responsibilities. It was emphasized that every student is expected to attend classes regularly, complete academic assignments on time, prepare honestly for examinations and midterm assessments, and strictly adhere to the principles of academic integrity. Students were also reminded of the importance of following the university’s internal rules, showing respect toward teachers, staff, and fellow students, and treating university property with care and responsibility.

During the open curatorial hour, special emphasis was placed on the close connection between rights and responsibilities. It was explained that being a student means not only enjoying one’s rights, but also consciously fulfilling one’s obligations. The curator highlighted that the quality of education, the level of discipline, mutual respect, and the overall culture of the academic environment largely depend on the responsibility and active participation of each student.

The event was conducted in the form of explanation, discussion, and open exchange of opinions. The students actively participated, shared their views, asked questions of concern to them, and received useful and important information regarding their role in university life.

In conclusion, the students came to understand that knowledge of their rights and conscientious fulfillment of their responsibilities are essential foundations for obtaining a quality education, maintaining academic discipline, and developing as future professionals. SDG 4 – Quality Education.
