On April 15, an open curatorial event titled “Modern Technologies in the Hotel Industry: The Case of Rixos” was organized for first-year students of the Tourism educational program at the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management, Department of Recreational Geography and Tourism. The event was conducted within the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 9 — Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and Goal 17 — Partnerships for the Goals.

The event was organized by first-year master’s students of the «Tourism»     educational program – Aiym Nurlan, Zhuldyz Khudaybergenova, Aigerim Sagat, and Dana Tynymbay- as part of their pedagogical practice.

 

During the event, students were introduced to modern trends in the hotel industry, the role of innovative technologies, and the importance of digital transformation in hospitality management. Issues related to the implementation of international hospitality standards, service quality improvement, and innovative management systems were also discussed.

To strengthen theoretical knowledge, an educational excursion to Rixos Almaty Hotel was organized. During the visit, participants became familiar with the hotel’s internal structure, management features, service standards, and modern technological equipment.

The event contributed to increasing students’ professional interest and provided a better understanding of modern trends in the hotel industry.

The event was organized at a high level under the guidance of the Head of the Department, PhD Baiburiev R.M., faculty members — Candidate of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor Aliyeva Zh.N., Candidate of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor Abdreeva Sh.T., and the supervisor of pedagogical practice — Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Pedagogy and Educational Management Bayarystanova E.T. The event served as a meaningful and educational practical experience for students.
