On April 17, a literary meeting was organized with third-year students of the “Kazakh Philology” program on the topic of “The Library of Babel and the metaphor of the labyrinth.” During the event, Akbota Abiyr delivered an insightful lecture, introducing students to the distinctive features of the works of Jorge Luis Borges.

The discussion focused on key philosophical ideas in The Library of Babel, such as infinity, the relationship between chaos and order, and the limits of human knowledge. In the lecture, by analyzing the metaphor of the labyrinth, the speaker explained its connection to the complexity of human life, the pursuit of knowledge, and the process of understanding the world. This helped students gain a deeper comprehension of the text and enhanced their critical thinking skills.

The meeting was held in an interactive format, where students actively shared their opinions, asked questions, and participated in discussions. As a result, their interest in world literature, particularly in modernist works, increased significantly.

Overall, the event not only deepened students’ literary and theoretical knowledge but also contributed to the development of their analytical skills and broadened their cultural and intellectual horizons.
