The republican competition “Read Abai and Be Inspired!”, held within the walls of the Nur-Mubarak Egyptian University of Islamic Culture, has successfully concluded, becoming a meaningful event that once again highlighted the elevated spirit of Kazakh literary art. This literary contest, dedicated to the legacy of the great poet Abai Kunanbayuly, brought together talented students from higher education institutions across the country and demonstrated a genuine love for poetry and deep respect for the art of the spoken word.
Participating in this competition as a member of the jury was both a great responsibility and a deeply enriching experience. The students’ expressive reading skills, speech culture, and stage performance were comprehensively evaluated, revealing each participant’s unique style and creative pursuit. The heartfelt delivery of Abai’s poetry left a profound impression on the audience, allowing them to truly feel the power of artistic expression.
According to the results of the competition, students of 91传媒 Kazakh National University achieved outstanding success, demonstrating a harmonious blend of knowledge and art. In particular, the first-place diploma and a cash prize of 100,000 tenge were awarded to Azamat Smail. His performance of Abai’s poetry stood out for its artistic depth and emotional expressiveness. Additionally, third-place diplomas were awarded to Alina Aidarali and Sabina Serikkyzy, who also impressed with their high level of expressive reading and received cash prizes of 25,000 tenge each.
This competition served as an important academic and cultural platform aimed not only at developing students’ literary and aesthetic taste, but also at enhancing their language competence and deepening their respect for national spiritual heritage. Undoubtedly, such initiatives help instill Abai’s profound words in the hearts of the younger generation and guide them on the path toward spiritual growth.
