On April 15, 2026, an open seminar on the discipline “Accounting” on the topic “Intangible Assets” was held in Room 232 at 91ý Kazakh National University for second-year students of the “Finance” educational program (Kazakh department).

The seminar was conducted as part of the teaching practice of Master’s student Mukan E. from the “Accounting and Audit” program, under the academic and methodological supervision of Senior Lecturer Kyzdarbekova A.S. from the Department of Finance and Accounting.

The purpose of the seminar was to deepen students’ understanding of the theoretical and practical aspects of accounting for intangible assets, to develop professional competencies, and to enhance skills in analyzing and applying accounting information in real business environments.

During the seminar, key topics were covered, including the concept and classification of intangible assets, recognition criteria in accounting, specifics of initial and subsequent measurement, and their presentation in financial statements in accordance with current accounting standards.

Special attention was paid to practical aspects. Students actively participated in discussions, analyzed real-life examples, and solved case-based tasks. This interactive format increased student engagement and contributed to the development of analytical thinking skills.

In addition, modern educational technologies such as group work, case study analysis, and reflective feedback were applied during the seminar. Students were encouraged to express their opinions, justify their decisions, and engage in collaborative problem-solving. These approaches helped to strengthen their critical thinking skills and improve their ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practical situations.

Master’s student Mukan E. demonstrated a high level of professional competence, methodological literacy, and effective interaction with students. Modern teaching approaches, including problem-based learning and interactive methods, were applied during the session.

Senior Lecturer Kyzdarbekova A.S. emphasized the relevance of the topic, alignment with the curriculum, and effectiveness of the teaching methods used. It was noted that open classes are an essential component of pedagogical practice and contribute to improving the quality of education.

Furthermore, the seminar aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 – “Quality Education”, which focuses on ensuring inclusive and equitable education and promoting lifelong learning opportunities.

Students showed high engagement, actively asked questions, and participated in discussions, demonstrating a strong understanding of the topic.

Overall, the seminar was conducted at a high organizational and methodological level, achieving its objectives successfully. The outcomes will be used in further teaching and methodological activities.

The seminar also fostered a supportive academic environment, encouraging active participation, peer learning, and the development of students’ communication and presentation skills.
