Youth Promote Healthy Eating Habits

In accordance with the educational work plan of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, students were assigned to produce an informational video about healthy eating. The students approached this task with great enthusiasm.

On April 16, a small committee consisting of the Deputy Dean for student affairs and representatives of the department leadership selected the best videos from a range of engaging, creative, and informative submissions. These videos were then viewed and discussed together with the students by Deputy Dean Shäripqazy Nurtälip and the Deputy Head of the Department of Chinese Studies for academic and educational work, Yerzhan Kerimbaev.

Numerous studies demonstrate that the quality, quantity, and composition of food affect not only well-being and appearance, but also overall health and even life expectancy. It is therefore natural that many people seek to adopt healthier eating habits. However, how can healthy nutrition be effectively promoted among young people? The students who created the videos attempted to answer this question and propose their own solutions.

Unhealthy eating habits among youth in Kazakhstan represent a real issue that requires systematic solutions. National nutrition standards, programs implemented in cooperation with international partners, and awareness-raising initiatives are steps in the right direction. However, sustainable change ultimately depends on the culture of nutrition formed within families and educational institutions, which should become a priority for society as a whole.
