"Youth in a Multilingual Environment (A Moral Reflection on Language Use among Contemporary Youth in Kazakhstan)"

On April 15, 2026, under the supervision of Professor Saule Baimyrzakovna Erzhanova, Doctor of Philological Sciences, from the Department of Kazakh Literature and Literary Theory of the Faculty of Philology, a first-year Master’s student of the “Kazakh Language and Literature” program, Lili, conducted a moral education class for third-year students on the topic “Youth in a Multilingual Environment (A Moral Reflection on Language Use among Contemporary Youth in Kazakhstan).”The aim of the session was to develop students’ understanding of the relationship between language use, personal development, and social responsibility in a multilingual context, as well as to strengthen their cultural identity and civic awareness.During the session, a PPT presentation was used, and methods such as pair work, question-and-answer techniques, situational discussion, and case analysis were applied, which increased student engagement and created an interactive learning environment.As a result, students gained a deeper understanding of language use in a multilingual society and learned to evaluate language behavior from moral and value-based perspectives.Overall, the session successfully integrated knowledge and value education, promoted students’ comprehensive development, enhanced their social responsibility and cultural awareness, and fostered a conscious and appropriate approach to language use.
