“THE NEW CONSTITUTION AND MODERN SOCIETY” A lecture was held
On April 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM, a comprehensive and informative lecture entitled “The New Constitution and Modern Society” was held at the Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management.
The main purpose of the event was to explain the content of the updated Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan to students and young academic staff, highlight its role in the development of modern society, and promote legal awareness and civic responsibility.
The lecture was delivered by Candidate of Legal Sciences, Professor of the Department of Customs, Financial and Environmental Law, Aigarinova G.T. In her presentation, the speaker elaborated on the key directions of constitutional reforms, their impact on societal development, improvements in public administration, and the strengthening of the rule of law.
During the lecture, the structure, content, and fundamental principles of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan were thoroughly discussed. Special attention was given to the preamble of the Constitution. The speaker explained its historical, political, and legal significance, emphasizing that the values enshrined in it - independence, unity, peace, democracy, and national consensus - form the foundation of the state and society. It was noted that the preamble defines the strategic direction of national development and reflects the core principles guiding the country’s future.
The lecture also addressed the rights and freedoms of citizens, mechanisms for their protection, and the mutual responsibility between the state and society. Participants were provided with practical examples of how constitutional norms are implemented in everyday life and legal practice.
The event was conducted in an interactive format, allowing participants to ask questions and engage in discussions. This contributed to enhancing legal literacy, fostering critical thinking, and strengthening civic engagement.
The lecture aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 16 “Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions,” through its focus on the rule of law and institutional development. It also contributes to SDG 4 “Quality Education” by promoting legal knowledge and intellectual growth.
