CURATORIAL HOUR ON THE TOPIC “STUDENTS’ RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES”

On April 21, 2026, at 11:00 AM, a curatorial hour on the topic “Students’ Rights and Responsibilities” was held at 91ý Kazakh National University, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Department of Turkology and History of Eastern Countries, within the framework of SDG 4 (Quality Education). The event was organized by the curator-advisor of 2nd-year students, A.T. Kyrkymbekova. The curatorial hour was attended by 2nd-year students of the “Oriental Studies” and “Foreign Philology” educational programs.

The main purpose of the event was to comprehensively explain students’ rights and responsibilities at the university level, to foster the principles of responsibility and academic integrity in the educational environment, and to create a platform for open discussion among students. During the session, students were thoroughly informed about the internal regulations of the university, their rights, and their responsibilities in the learning process.

The main speaker, Aina Ainiddinova, in her presentation highlighted the rights and responsibilities of students from the moment of enrollment to graduation. She emphasized the importance of academic policy and academic integrity policy, explaining these documents with concrete examples. The speaker stressed the necessity for students to adhere to the principles of fairness, responsibility, and honesty in their academic journey.

In addition, within the framework of academic integrity policy, issues such as prevention of plagiarism, adherence to exam regulations, and independent completion of academic work were widely discussed. It was noted that these principles contribute to improving the quality of education and positively influence students’ professional and personal development.

Faculty members also took part in the curatorial hour, sharing their opinions and providing practical advice to students. The event was held in an open dialogue format and was marked by active student participation.

In conclusion, this curatorial hour served as an important educational initiative aimed at enhancing students’ legal awareness, strengthening academic culture, and increasing responsibility for obtaining quality education.
